Web Portal

The Meercat web portal has been developed solely for you as a telecoms reseller or large establishment to provide SMS texting capabilities to your clients. The product scales from a single user, right through to the largest of user bases containing thousands of users.

Its sophisticated administration facilities allow you to configure and control an unlimited number of your clients and their users. The multi tier interface allows you to hand off administration of the client functions to local administrators. Of course it can all be branded with your own colours and logo without any loss of identity.

Billing couldn't be simpler...

No pre-purchase of messages or services is required.
You only pay for what you or your clients use.
You are billed monthly in arrears.
Our comprehensive billing platform can summarise use of the site per client and even down to a single user.

Email to SMS

Sending email to text messages couldn't be simpler. If your users, applications or systems can send an email then you can provide PC to mobile messaging to your clients/departments.

We also provide many other email toSMS formats which include file attachments and mail body formats which allow the sending of single or multiple messages.

Inbound short codes

We provide low cost short code/inbound keyword services that can also be configured and controlled via the web portal. Messages sent into the short code and keyword(s) of your choice are charged to the sender at their networks standard rate.

The web portal also allows you to choose whether to auto-respond to the inbound messages and configure what text to auto-respond with.

You have 2 Short Code Options.

You can use one of our Shared Short Codes, which sess us supplying you with your chosen unique Key Word (subject to availability). These are perfect for short-term use subject to a minimum contract.
Alternatively we can supply you with your own Dedicated Short Codes subject to a minimum contract. You're then free to set up as many of your own keywords as required.

With either of these options we can provide you with an unlimited number of double barrelled keywords based on the single keyword of your choice. Example: Text Meercat Sales to shortcode 81025.

As a reseller your first inbound shortcode/keyword is provided with a branded portal free of charge.

Application Integration

We provide a number of ways to integrate SMS services in client systems.

The Meercat messaging send and receive engine that is the heart of our web portal is fully documented and available for use. We provide simple email to SMS services - if a system can generate an email we can relay this as a text message. We also provide a simple http(s) post format that sends single or bulk messages from a web server connected to the internet.

Our standard integration methods satisfy a large portion of our clients. However we know we cannot hope to meet every individual requirement or integrate with every package on the market.

In situations where a client has requirements that are not met by our standard offerings we can:

Provide direct technical assistance to create a new service.
Provide technical assistance to integrate our SMS services with the clients own software.
Work with the clients own staff to provide such integration.

After more than 16 years supplying both schools and higher education establishments Meercat has a large amount of experience and a number of products that aid integration with both standard packages and bespoke solutions.

Meercat has an unrivalled reputation for flexibility and its technicians enjoy working with IT and telecoms experts of its clients to ensure that the technologies are fully exploited.

What's Possible?

Eurolens at Manchester University. Timed messages, at regular intervals, are sent to clients as part of clinical trials. Clients respond to the messages which are collated by us and formated in a bespoke report for analysis.

Huddersfield University. Automated global address book updates. On a nightly basis we proces the csv data sent to update the entire global contacts database. Once processed an automated exception report is produced and mailed to inform of the nightly batch runs success.

Voting registration via SMS. Working with a local governemt backed agency we provide the mechamism for a registrant to be able to text in a unique registration code to a virtual mobile number, we process the inbound message and reply with a success or failure message.

System email relay. Many of our customers simply generate an email from their systems. We recieve these, in many different formats, for onward relay to an SMS message.

Integration

Meercat software has all of the necessary interfaces to allow establishments to integrate with their own databases.

Saints - Integrate with Saints student administration.

Sims - Most schools use SIMS. Reports produced from SIMS cna be used to send out messages to selcted groups of pupils.

ICE - In Case of Emergency. Meercat provides integration with admin systems so that emergency notices can be delivered to large numbers of students and staff rapidly.

Moodle - Meercat is working with various establishments to be able to provide Moodle capability.
